VINNOVA, The Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems, invests in research and strengthens Sweden's innovative capacity for competitiveness, sustainable development and growth.

One of the most known programs at VINNOVA is the Vinnväxt programme.
The objective of the VINNVÄXT programme is to promote sustainable regional growth based on international competitiveness within a chosen area of strength. Its purpose is to advance the functionality, dynamics and efficiency of the regional innovation system.

Currently 11 clusters are financed within the Vinnväxt programme. Other cluster - and innovation related actions which Vinnova is responsible for or involved in are the BSR Stars which aim is to develop the Baltic Sea into a world competitive region and the Tactics project- a EU project which aims to develop better cluster policies in the EU.
