Dr. Per Eriksson is the Founding Director General of VINNOVA - the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems. He is the "godfather" of Innovation Journalism, personally backing the first
innovation journalism initiative in the world, launched by VINNOVA in 2003.
Dr. Marta Svetina is the Founding Director General of TIA - the National Slovenian Technology Agency. Earlier this year she announced innovation
journalism as a part of the Slovenian technology and innovation policy. TIA is now backing three pilot projects.
Mr Arthur Bayhan is the Founding Director of the Competitiveness Support Fund, which was set up in 2005 by the Government of Pakistan and USAID.
The Competitiveness Support Fund has initiated a national Innovation Journalism Program in Pakistan.
Journalism Experts:
Mr Jan Sandred is special advisor at the Office of the Director General of VINNOVA. He has over 20 years of international experience in media and journalism, founding several publications, among them Biotech Sweden, the largest Swedish
biotech publication. Jan Sandred was a fellow in the first round of the Stanford VINNOVA Innovation Journalism Fellowship Program in 2004.
Mr Willi Rütten is Director of the European Journalism Center in Maastricht, an institute for further journalism education concerned with European issues and the future of media. Mr Rütten has worked with German television for a dozen years and was until recently Head of School for Digital Television at the University of Salzburg.
Dr. Seppo Sisättö has spearheaded the introduction of Innovation Journalism in Finland and is the secretary of the Finnish National Innovation Journalism Fellowship Program. He is Docent, Dept. of Communications, Helsinki University, Former President/Owner Skycom Ltd
(TV-Tampere) and Radio Three Ltd., Former Director of Administration and Director of
Communications MTV Oy and Aamulehti Group Ltd (today Alma Media Ltd).
Innovation Journalism Policy Entrepreneur
Dr David Nordfors is Senior Research Scholar at Stanford University and Special Adviser to the Director General of VINNOVA, running the innovation journalism programs at Stanford and VINNOVA. He coined the concept of innovation journalism in 2003. He has a background as a researcher in quantum molecular physics, editor of a computer magazine, and innovation policy entrepreneur.
