1. Slovak Engineering Cluster (1SKK)

1. Slovak Engineering Cluster (1SKK) was established by a founding treaty signed on September 17, 2008. The signatories are: Banska Bystrica self-governing region, 10 engineering companies, 1 research and development company, 1 consultancy company, 8 secondary schools specialized in engineering and the Technical University in Zvolen. The establishing of the 1SKK was preceded by successful participation of the Banska Bystrica self-governing region in the project CLOE – Clusters Linked over Europe funded from the programme of interregional cooperation Interreg IIIC outcome of which was an Action plan for development of clusters in the BBSK and which involved an internship for representatives of companies who were potential members of the Moravian Silesian Engineering cluster. 1SKK’s vision is to build a highly prestigious and modern engineering base competent in terms of human resources, new technologies and innovations for the rise of supply chains in the field of strategic projects in construction engineering, transport industry, forestry and agriculture.
