On 22 November 2017, cluster practitioners from Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Spain participated in the sixth webinar of the new TCI Latin American Chapter series. The session focused on Perspectives of cluster initiatives in the world and was moderated by Jaime Echeverri, Vice President of Planning and Development in the Chamber of Commerce of Medellin for Antioquia, Colombia.


Invited speakers were the cluster experts:

  • James R. Wilson: Senior Researcher of Orkestra- Basque Institute of Competitiveness and professor in doctorates, master's degrees and undergraduate degrees at the Deusto Business School. He is also secretary in TCI Network.
  • Marco LLinas: Vice President of Competitiveness and Shared Value of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota

During the webinar, both experts were exploring the following questions:

  • What models of sustainability have worked and which have not?
  • What's next for clusters?
  • What are the trends in this topic for the economies of Latin America?
  • What are the most important challenges?


James and Marco explained their views in a very clear and understandable way, hence sharing experiences from many years as cluster practitioners.
