TCI Cluster Evaluation Working Group Workshop
Cork, Ireland, 14-15 May 2018
The TCI Cluster Evaluation Working Group will meet in Cork on 14-15 May (starting at 12:00 on Day 1, concluding at 14:00 on Day 2), hosted by Cork Institute of Technology.
On the first day, the workshop will focus on evidencing the benefits of clusters and discussing a potential framework of cluster programme effects. What types of benefits do cluster efforts have? How are different types/levels of benefits experienced over time? (How does this mirror the expectations described in the “perfect cluster framework”?) The group will then revisit and follow-up a number of previous working group activities.
On the second day, the workshop will delve into the topic of evidencing the role of clusters in smart specialisation strategies, presenting ongoing approaches and experiences from across members of the working group. In addition, we will have a session where working group members can highlight other new ideas and potential topics for exploration within the working group.
Places are limited, and we are looking for active contributions from participants to share their experience and take forward working group outputs. In particular, we are looking for those participants with ideas and/or experience in incorporating use of big data in monitoring and evaluation practices. Places will be restricted to a maximum of 2 per organisation to maximise shared learning.
EOI submission date is Monday, March 26th. Confirmation of participation will be communicated directly after the Easter holiday. (If you need to know earlier, please get in touch.)
The event is free to TCI members, and members will be given priority. (You can become a member by following this link to gain free access to this workshop, reduced rate at the global conference and many other benefits of joining). Lunches and coffee breaks are included in the workshop. Participants are expected to support their own travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses.
