Regional Innovation and Clusters: Lessons for Chile and Latin America

It is well-known that clusters are prominent in all successful and growing regional economies and play a key role in driving productivity, innovation and competitiveness. Therefore, this book is an academic contribution to improve all the framework conditions surrounding regional clusters. It also represents an inspiration for policy makers, researchers and postgraduate students interested in these topics in the emerging Latin American context.

One particular feature of this novel book from and to emerging economies of Latin America, is that not only presents successful clusters studies, but also shows unsuccessful cases and lessons to be learned varying for countries (e.g. Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile) to industries (e.g. Wine, Salmon, Biotechnology, Forestry, Dairy, etc). The role of socials networks and trade/industry associations are particularly highlighted in this book.
