The Members of TCI – The Competitiveness Institute are invited to the Annual Meeting of the General Assembly to be held in Auckland, New Zealand, on 2 December 2011. New President and directors will be elected in a partial renewal of the Board.

About the Elections to the Board of Directors 2011

 

Election of New President

After two years of service, President Alberto Pezzi will complete his mandate in 2011. He will continue one more year in the Board as Outgoing President. The General Assembly will vote for a new president who shall be elected among the directors with at least one year in the Board. The Board is glad to announce the candidature of Christian Ketels for President 2011-2013.

Christian Ketels. Candidate to President 2011-2013.
Christian Ketels has been member of the Board since 2007, becoming Secretary in 2009. He is a member of the Harvard Business School faculty at Professor Michael E. Porter's Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness. Honorary Professor at the EBS Business School, Germany, and Senior Research Fellow at the Stockholm School of Economics, Sweden, Christian has led cluster and competitiveness projects in many parts of the world. He is member of economic advisory groups in Europe and the Americas, has written widely on economic policy issues, and has been a frequent speaker on competitiveness and strategy in Europe, North America and Asia.

 

Partial Renewal of the Board of Directors

After three years of service, Director Barnabas Nawangwe will complete his mandate in 2011 and will step down.

The following candidates will be presented to the General Assembly for a vote:

Klaus Haasis. Proposed new Secretary 2011-2013.
If Christian Ketels is finally elected as President, Klaus Haasis, elected Director 2010-2013, is proposed as new Secretary of TCI.

Jaime Echeverri. Appointed Director March 2011-2013. Subject to ratification.
Jaime Echeverri was appointed interim member by the Board during the year. This decision will be presented for ratification at the General Assembly.

Ted Lyman. Candidate to Director 2011-2014.

Richard Walker. Candidate to Director 2011-2014.

 

New elected directors and confirmed positions will join the current directors who continue to 2012 and 2013:
