TCI 2011 Auckland: provoking ideas and perspective from the "edge"

An impressive line-up of plenary speakers from around the world will contribute to what promises to be a fantastic conference week where we will learn the latest ideas in competitiveness and clusters, explore new models and envision what's next in competitiveness and innovation strategy and practice. Xianbin Yao, Michael Enright and Christian Ketels are some of the international experts who will be presenting in Auckland. Thought provoking ideas, innovation and perspective from the "edge" will be provided by leading New Zealand speakers including Norm Thompson (Air New Zealand), Andrew Ferrier (Fronterra), Sir Paul Callaghan (New Zealander of the Year).

Keynote speakers

The highly regarded Xianbin Yao, Director General of the Regional Sustainable Development Department at the Asian Development Bank and Michael Enright, Director at Enright, Scott & Associates and Professor at University of Hong Kong, will open the conference. Christian Ketels, member of the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness of Harvard Business School, will headline day two of the main conference programme.

Thought provoking ideas, innovation and perspective from the "edge" will be provided by leading New Zealand speakers including John Allen, currently Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Paul Callaghan, New Zealander of the Year who is at the forefront of connecting science and business; Colin Campbell-Hunt, an expert in the strategic challenges facing New Zealand business; David Skilling, director at Landfall Strategy Group in Singapore; Mark Solomon, Kaiwhakahaere (Chair) Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu; Ifor Ffowcs- Williams, CEO, Cluster Navigators Ltd; Norm Thompson, Deputy Chief Executive of international award winning airline Air New Zealand; Peter Chrisp, Chief Executive of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
