Objectives and participants
The main objective of the 7CLAC, hosted by Monterrey - city of montains, is to create a space for getting connected and sharing experiences about the formation of regional clusters in Latin American countries, based on three pillars — collaboration, sectorial strategies and innovation.
Collaboration - Arises from the clustering model whereby the triple helix parties coordinate themselves to achieve synergies that boost competitiveness.
Sectorial strategies - Which allow the development of regional strategic sectors to foster economic development.
Innovation - Enables continuous and future regional growth by creating superior competitive advantages in certain regions.
The conference has been planned for all professionals, researchers, professors, consultants, business people, and government officials who are interested in regional strategic collaboration for organizational and sectorial economic development.
Learning from clusters in Nuevo Leon
The Ministry of Economic Development (SEDEC) of the Government of the State of Nuevo Leon in Mexico has promoted and created 10 strategic clusters to foster the growth of those industries it considers strategic for Nuevo Leon. These are the clusters already established in Nuevo Leon: Aerospace, Agro Foods, Automotive and Auto Parts, Biotechnology, Home Appliances, Interactive Media, Nanotechnology, Health, Information Technologies, and Housing and Sustainable Urban Development. The Clusters of Nuevo Leon play an active role in the region's economic development and have experience in the following themes: collaboration, strategy, innovation, and creation of value.
Participants will learn and discuss successful models they can later implement taking into account the particular characteristics of each Latin American sector & region. Monterrey will show its visitors the social and economic transformation through which it has become one of the most important cities in Mexico for cluster and business development. Do not miss the opportunity to get to know the reality of 10 strategic clusters located in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, the main challenges confronting them, and the proposed solutions in search of more effective and sustainable results.
