Message from Amit Kapoor, TCI Director and Honorary Chairman of Institute for Competitiveness, India

Dear Colleagues,

As you are aware, European airspace is under siege by forces of nature which threatens to extend to parts of North America. We are worried about safety of our speakers and delegates originating or transiting through Europe; and have been inundated with anxious calls by all concerned. Today morning a new ash cloud started to move towards Europe especially France and UK and some engine damage has been reported on planes. This development poses a serious threat to the coming in of normalcy to travel schedules in the short term.

In addition Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India has also issued an advisory on travelling towards Europe or North America for the coming four weeks.

Consequently, we are postponing the Asia Competitiveness Forum. It is decided that the Forum is merged with the Global Competitiveness Conference to be held at New Delhi over 29th Nov to 3rd Dec, 2010. All registered delegates for the Asia Competitiveness Forum would be extended a gratis registration to the Global Competitiveness Conference at no extra charge.

Meanwhile following up on the suggestion of many delegates and speakers we are working out modalities of moving the entire forum onto the online platform. We shall keep you posted on this.

Regards

Dr. Amit Kapoor
