Description
Founded in 1962, AIRD's mission is to promote industrialization in the Dominican Republic. It represents the largest organization of the national industrial sector. It includes the country's main companies and industries as well as the membership of 13 of the industrial associations in the country.
The AIRD is a not-for-profit, membership-driven organization focused on strengthening the competitiveness of the industrial sector. AIRD has experience working together with different local and international entities. For instance, it is currently partnering with the Consejo Nacional de Competitividad (CNC) in a project financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) to strengthen the exporter Dominican sector by creating local industrial clusters focused on speed and flexibility as sources of competitive advantage in three key sectors: plastics, cosmetics and cocoa products.
