Description
Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry supports many competitiveness and innovation related projects which aim at building an innovation system for agro-food sector in the region. Mersin Agrofood Platform, established in June 2007, is compounded by participants from public and private sectors and non-governmental organizations. The vision of the platform is being an international base for innovative, high quality agriculture and food production, processing them with the latest technologies and markets in a wide range of geographical locations. Mersin Tarim-Gida Platform is established with a 6th Framework EU funded project called RIS-MERSIN. Now the 7th Framework EU funded project called AGFORISE is being coordinated by 2009 Platform, which provides services for producers, entrepreneurs and other sector related participants for creating a competitive retail environment. The platform is coordinating the agro-food technopark outsets (like fresh fruit and vegetable exporters, etc.) establishment and coordination projects.
