Astrakhan State University (ASU) is a proactive economic agent within Astrakhan region, Russia, putting plenty of efforts to enhancing regional competitiveness. ASU Centre for Competitiveness and Cluster Initiatives focuses on three main areas: disseminating knowledge on cluster approach to economic development through educational programs and executive training; providing scientific research concentrated on cluster development benchmarking; facilitating and implementing cluster initiatives in Astrakhan as well as in other Russian regions in cooperation with business representatives and public authorities. ASU is a member of the MOC affiliate course network developed by the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness of Harvard Business School headed by Professor M. Porter.
