Oost NV - Development Agency East Netherlands is an agency that focuses its activities and projects on strengthening and stimulating the economy of the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel, in the Netherlands. The agency works with businesses in those provinces and is commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation and the respective Provinces. Oost NV plays an important role in executing the economic policies of the Dutch government and the Province of Overijssel and its various city governments. To achieve this it is necessary to encourage a close cooperation between businesses, regional institutes, knowledge institutes, and intermediaries. Oost NV acts as a bridge between government, companies and knowledge institutes.

Its activities are divided into four parts:

• Regional Development & Innovations: improvement of the production and business climate for entrepreneurs in the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel through facilitating innovation, knowledge exchange, cluster forming, etc.
• Business Environment: this new branch coordinates renewal projects in existing industrial parks and will work to develop new business and knowledge parks as well as collective business centers.
• Foreign Investments: works to attract new businesses and/or new business activities. It supports the businesses of the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel by supporting expansion activities and setting up cooperative networks.
• PPM Oost (Participation Company East Netherlands NV): takes part in capital investments in companies in the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel. Around the regional strenghts, Food, Health and Technology, Oost NV initiated and supports clusters organisations like Food Valley, Health Valley, Innovation Platform Twente and Business Cluster Semiconductors.
