Description
Network of Industry RuhrOst Conceived as a network of companies for companies, it is the objective of the 50 NIRO-partners, with more than 10,000 employees regionally, to further strengthen the economic and technological performance of metal and mechanical engineering and industrial electronics in the region. Many companies are world market leaders or alternatively technology leaders in their segments. Through the partnership and the exchange of experiences amongst each other the companies concretely profit by, for example:
-the electricity pool and the joint electronic procurement platform
-the qualification of skilled employees and executives through the concept of the university of cooperative education in the Unna county (dual study course), which is unique in North Rhine-Westphalia
-the product and process innovations supported by the Dortmund University of Technology
-the formation of supply relationships and value-added chains
These achievements, initiated by the EU project “KompetenzCentrum Fabrikautomation” for the economic development agency of the Unna county, contribute to reveal the efficiency of our region. Company profiles and information can be found at www.ni-ro.de
