Description

The Egyptian National Competitiveness Council - ENCC, is Egypt’s first non-governmental organization, led by a group of prominent businessmen and members of the academic community, to tackle the issue of national competitiveness. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for all Egyptians, by being an efficient and effective platform to bring together stakeholders — business, government, academia and civil society — to raise awareness and advocate policies that enhance competitiveness. ENCC activities include various roundtables, workshops, periodic policy briefs and the annual production of the Egyptian Competitiveness Report (ECR), the council’s flagship publication. The report provides a critical analysis of Egypt’s competitiveness based mainly on the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report as well as findings from the World Bank’s Doing Business report and the Business Barometer published by the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies. Authored by prominent scholars, the ECR is a key source of data and information for policymakers, researchers and civil society organizations.
