The Brazilian Service of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises - Sebrae-MG in the State of Minas Gerais, is a non-profit private entity of public interest that has as its main source of revenue the contribution collected from enterprises. It has a clear and transparent mission of offering to micro and small enterprises the conditions necessary for their survival and prosperity through the gain and maintenance of competitive patterns and thus the sustainability of their businesses. Sebrae has as its main strategy to operate through collective projects that are based on the cluster policy in which sectorial groups of companies within a geographical border work together in order to reach competitiveness through collaboration. For 2009, Sebrae is supporting 132 collective programs within the State and establishing a strong network of cluster practitioners as the basis for an incremental learning and the improvement of the team and results.
