2011 Elections. Election of New President and Partial Renewal of the Board of Directors

New president and members of the Board will be elected by the General Assembly in Auckland, New Zealand, on December 2, 2011.

 

Election of President

• Alberto Pezzi. President 2009-2011. Steps down.
Continues in the Board as Outgoing President 2011-2012.

After two years of service, President Alberto Pezzi will complete his mandate at the next meeting of the General Assembly. He will continue one more year in the Board as Outgoing President. The General Assembly will vote for a new president who shall be elected among the directors with at least one year in the Board http://www.tci-network.org/tci/board_directors. The Board will present to the members its candidate for President in the Call for General Assembly.

 

Election of Directors

• Barnabas Nawangwe. Director 2008-2011. Steps down.
After three years of service, Director Barnabas Nawangwe will complete his mandate at the next meeting of the General Assembly.

• Jaime Echeverri. Director March 2011-2013. Subject to ratification.
Last March 2011, Jaime Echeverri was appointed interim member of the Board. This decision will be presented for ratification at the General Assembly.

 

New candidates can also present candidatures. As every year, TCI invites potential candidates to express their interest to be nominated for the Board of Directors. Directors will be elected by the General Assembly and will join the current directors who continue to 2012 and 2013 http://www.tci-network.org/tci/board_directors:

Candidates' requirements

Candidates to the TCI Board of Directors:
• Must be individuals working with a cluster methodology
• Must be members of TCI and must have formalized their annual membership through TCI Secretariat
• Must be committed to the objectives of the association and actively strive to achieve these

Candidates will be elected for a 3-year term if they receive the majority of all votes by eligible members present at the General Assembly. Information about TCI's bylaws, legal entity and objectives is available at: http://www.tci-network.org/tci/about

 

Submissions
Candidates are invited to identify their interest with a CV and a brief motivation letter (in English) to be sent to nominations@tci-network.org by September 2, 2011. Candidates may be contacted for an interview by TCI representatives.

 

Selection criteria
Considering the actual composition of the Board, a limited number of candidates will be selected, considering the following criteria when establishing the priority of nominations:
• Motivation and availability to serve as a member of the Board
• Geographical balance
• Gender balance
• Balance in backgrounds: government, academia, private sector

 

Election Process Timeline
July 18, Open call for candidates to directors
September 2, Deadline for nominations
September 30, Candidates notified of selection
October 10, Call for General Assembly. Candidates announced (President and Directors)
December 2, General Assembly in Auckland. Elections.
