We are excited to have kicked off 2025 with our first webinar, organized in collaboration with the Interreg Europe Project Accelerate GDT: ‘Ukrainian Cluster Ecosystem: Steps toward a  collaborative future.’

On February 26th we had an unique opportunity to explore the cluster ecosystem in Ukraine. Alexandre Yurchak, CEO of the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance (UCA), provided insights into how policy has historically supported clusters and value chain development, the evolution and collaboration of clusters both internally and internationally, and the strategic goals for the future. He highlighted how clusters can become key drivers of recovery and vital connectors in Ukraine's innovation ecosystem.

In response to UCA’s presentation, Anna Monjo, Team Leader of the Catalonia Cluster Programme at ACCIÓ, shared valuable insights and reflections. She spotlit elements of the Catalonia Cluster Program—a globally recognized initiative taught as a best-practice case study at Harvard Business School—that could inspire UCA and other participants.

Participants had the opportunity to engage and posed pertinent questions to our speakers to gain further insight into how clusters are navigating the crisis in Ukraine presently, and how clusters in Catalonia are continuing to thrive, evolve and be strategically relevant for their members’ R&D and Internationalization efforts.
