The official announcement of the city which will host the 21st TCI Global Conference 2018 was made during the passing of the torch ceremony in Bogota on 8 November 2017.

The Toronto representatives who received the flag were Dorinda So, Research Director at Institute for Competitiveness & Prosperity in Toronto, Canada and Saad Usmani, Policy Analyst at Institute for Competitiveness & Prosperity.

The torch was passed by this year by organizer Marco Llinás, Vice President for Competitiveness and Shared Value at Camara de Comercio de Bogota.
