Short description The Automotive Cluster of Nuevo Leon, Claut, gathers 110 members between companies and academic & government institutions based in the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. We cover companies that build vehicles and suppliers of the different levels of the value chain. We are part of the network of Automotive Clusters in Mexico, and one of the 13 clusters of the State of Nuevo Leon. Since 2014 we have the gold label recognised by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis. We participate with TCI since the year 2009

Manuel Montoya Ortega

Since October 2012, Manuel Montoya is member of the Board of Directors of TCI. He is General Manager of the Automotive Cluster of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He was responsible for organizing the 7CLAC - 7th TCI Latin American Cluster Conference and the TCI Global Conference 2014 in Monterrey. He has a long career in business and has participated as board member in many regional development-oriented organizations such as Fomento Cultural y Deportivo, A.C., Promotora de Iniciativas de Desarrollo, A.C., Inmobiliaria Seival, A.C., Impulso Educativo y Social, A.C., and Centro de Competitividad de Monterrey, A.C. He has worked as consultant in strategic planning, business plan development, and cluster development. Manuel holds a PhD in Administration from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, a Master in Business Administration by the IESE Business School, Barcelona, Spain and a degree in Chemical Engineering by the ITESM Monterrey.

I pursue achievements that can either bring better career opportunities for those with limited economic resources, or develop products, processes or capabilities missing in one country/industry or company, or all together. My passion is to make big things happen. I use my background on engineering and professional experience at CLAUT to understand problems and obstacles from a wide point of view and then look for solutions procuring funds, involving leaders, putting hours of work and thought and convincing allies. I assume my responsibilty to at least try to contribute to solve problems such as climate change, education, poorness and violence through helping companies be more efficient in their processes, developing innovation capabilities, establishing global networks of collaboration and developing their employees.
