Danielle Arsenault


Danielle Arsenault brings with her two decades of experience in strategic policy, partnership development and program delivery. She has worked extensively with networks and clusters that were focused on mobilizing multi-faceted teams to work together across disciplines and sectors to drive innovation and tackle complex challenges that cannot be addressed by any one group. Currently, Danielle is working to further develop Canada’s Innovation Supercluster Program and the related economic policy to strengthen a future phase of the initiative. Canada is investing $1B over 5 years, matched by industry, to incent large-scale cross-sectoral collaboration to accelerate existing ecosystems, where Canada has a potential global advantage. These sectors include: Advanced Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, Oceans, and Plant-Protein Agriculture. Before joining ISED, she oversaw a portfolio of health focused not-for-profit organizations that worked to bridge science and innovation. Through her role on the Board of Directors of over a dozen not-for-profit organizations, she gained diverse experience in governance, and building inclusive engagement strategies. During her time at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, she held a number of senior including as the Assistant Director for the Institute of Population and Public Health (IPPH) where she worked closely with the Institute leadership to develop strategic partnership plans to expand the institute’s outreach to non-traditional partners. She has a Masters in Population and Public Health from Simon Fraser University and a B.Sc. from the University of Ottawa.
