Last June 7-8 we met in Barcelona to host our TCI Cluster Policy Workshop 2023.

In this edition, organized in collaboration with Acció at its headquarters, we had the participation of more than 20 international participants representing cluster organizations, regional public administrations, international development agencies and the University.

During the workshop, we evidenced that advanced cluster policy is about strategic commitment, not only funding. The role of cluster programs is to ignite growth, change and transformation through strategic collaboration. The leadership is private, and the key is to build trust among cluster members and stakeholders.

We also discussed our challenges ahead and bring some new ideas on: 

• How to enhance clusters as strategic mechanisms for public policy and connect cluster policy with other policies? 
• How to expand the cluster effect and prove impact? 
• How can we use clusters as a tool to help firms create shared value?

The policy dialogue will move further with a specific session at the TCI Global Conference in Iceland and a next TCI Policy Workshop next year in Upper Austria, 6-7 June.
